Welcome to a world of endless holidays
This is what you get when you are a holiday home owner, and it’s a world that might be closer and more affordable than you realise. Join us as we chat to our Head of Group Operations, Michael North to find out more.
How would you describe the lifestyle that goes with owning a holiday home?
It’s for people that are looking to get the greatest possible pleasure from their leisure time. You often see that combination of work hard, play hard – and with that goes a desire to have time to relax and have fun. It’s a lifestyle choice that more and more people are seeking. For those with busy careers, there is nothing better than spending quality time with family and friends. Whilst for those enjoying an active retirement a holiday home can be a fantastic way to have the adventures that you’ve always planned for.
And, with no bookings to manage, holiday home ownership is also the stress-free way to live your best life. This is one of the aspects that our customers really appreciate and the fact that we are here to support them.
Why would you recommend choosing a holiday park as the base for your holiday home?
Because not only do you get to enjoy your own holiday home, you also get to delight in all of the facilities that are incorporated into the holiday park. So, for example, at our Wild Rose Holiday Park in Cumbria, there is a heated indoor and outdoor pool, gym, soft play, retro arcade, restaurant, bar and café, and playground all of which you can take advantage of at no extra cost. That’s a lot of added value! You’ll also find entertainment activities from barbecues to live music taking place across all our holiday parks, which really add to the experience.
All ten of our holiday parks offer lush green settings, with grounds that you can appreciate but don’t need to take care of. At Cakes & Ale Holiday Park in Suffolk home owners love the immaculately maintained greens spaces, plus there are tennis courts, a driving range, adventure playgrounds and a football pitch to keep everyone entertained.
Holiday parks can also offer settings that you could only ever dream of. Such as Rawcliffe Hall Holiday Park just outside Blackpool, where your holiday home would be located in the grounds of the 12th century manor house and the nearby River Wyre flows by.
What advice would you give about choosing a holiday home location?
Our advice is to think about how you like to spend time and try to incorporate some elements of this into your selection. For example, are you into outdoor pursuits, a lover of spending time on the beach and someone who relishes sight-seeing? Then our Percy Wood Country Park on Northumberland’s heritage coast, which also includes an 18-hole golf course, could be the perfect choice. If you like to spend time looking around historic towns and attractions then White Rose Holiday Park is ideally situated to be able to make the most of both York and Harrogate as well as the surrounding North Yorkshire countryside. And we are very excited that our latest holiday park, Crofthead, takes holidaymakers to Scotland’s beautiful Ayrshire coastline, where the views alone will bring you peace and relaxation!
How affordable is a holiday home?
Prices with Harrison Holidays start at £24,995. This is for a static caravan that comes with contemporary styling and integrated features. Depending on what size you are looking for, we can help you to work out an option to suit your budget. Also weigh up whether you are looking for something that is brand new or pre-owned – we offer a full range of both. We’d recommend viewing a number of different options to get the feel that’s right for you and your family.
And remember, if you think of that cost against the investment needed to purchase a second home, there really is no comparison and that’s without considering the ease of the whole buying process. Make a purchase this spring / summer and you’ll be planning your first trips away within the next few weeks.
But you’ll really begin to feel the value when you start to use your holiday home. Then it’s time to sit back and enjoy!
Why is holiday time so important?
Everyone loves to spend time away on holiday, but did you know that there are recognised health benefits; from lowering your stress levels to improving your overall outlook on life. Even if it’s just a couple of days away the reset and feeling of being refreshed will bring immediate benefits. In other words, taking a break is good for the soul, which is why holiday homes are seen as such a positive lifestyle choice. And when you own your own holiday home, you can holiday throughout the seasons, always discovering something new to do and see.
