Held in the grounds of the Salesbury Hall Estate, which overlooks the River Ribble, it is an idyllic setting.
Drawn to Water: Quentin Blake at WWT – until 10 September
Drawn to Water is running throughout the summer (until 10 September) at beautiful Martin Mere Wetland Centre, which is just a short distance from our Abbey Farm Holiday Park in Ormskirk. This is your chance to reimagine the wonder of wetlands and nature through the eyes of the UK’s best loved illustrator, Quentin Blake. This also the place to experience a self-guided canoe safari and have a go at pond dipping.
Blackpool Comedy Festival – 7 to 9 July
The iconic Blackpool Winter Gardens is the home of Blackpool Comedy Festival from 7 July to 9 July. The town is well-known for hosting comedy legends and taking to the Opera House stage will be a line-up of side-splitting stand-ups that will have the audience in stitches in a nod to Blackpool’s legacy of laughter. Headliners include Eddie Izzard and JoJo Sutherland. This could be a great night out if you own a holiday home or lodge at Rawcliffe Hall Holiday Park, where there are currently a number available to purchase.
Lindisfarne Festival – 31 August to 3 September
Lose yourself in great music and entertainment set in one of the most amazing part of the country and just a short drive from Percy Wood Holiday Park. A stellar music line-up is just the start; what gives this festival the edge is the diverse range walkabout artists: fire performers, jugglers, actors, acrobats and dancers who will wow you with their skills. And when it’s time to chill there are holistic therapies, yoga and meditation to immerse yourself into.
Southport Flower Show – 17 to 20 August
Finally, we have to give an extra special shout out to Southport Flower Show, which this year Harrison Holidays has the honour of being the headline sponsor of. Flowers, gardening, the great outdoors and so much more combine in this extravaganza, which takes place from 17 to 20 August. It has a special place in the nation’s heart as the country’s largest independent flower show and is renowned for attracting celebrities. This year Keith Brymer Jones, John Torode, Lisa Faulkner and Justin Fletcher are amongst those taking a star turn. The Harrison Holidays team will also be joining in the fun, with a Spin the Wheel game that will give show goers the chance to win some fabulous prizes. If you are staying at our Riverside Holiday Park this could be the perfect addition to your holiday itinerary.
