A VIP (Very Important Pets) invitation Pets go Free at Harrison Holidays
Everyone is part of the Harrison Holidays’ family, so when you stay at one of our holiday parks we’ll also extend an invitation to your pet at no extra cost. Our Pets Go Free offer is going to be available throughout 2023, making it a great time to book and enjoy some time away with all your nearest and dearest.
As we approach Dog Friendly Day on 29 May we wanted to show some puppy love and take a look at what a holiday with your four legged friend could be like if you join us at Harrison Holidays.
At all our holiday parks your loved ones won’t go unnoticed by our on-site teams, in fact they’ll be treated like VIPs (very important pets) who will receive the best attention throughout their stay – after all, it’s their holiday as well as yours! That’s why you’ll find pet-friendly touches like ‘pet station’ feeding areas and specially created dog trails; all designed to get their tails wagging. Pet-friendly accommodation with Harrison Holidays means a comfortable stay for all, with a range of choices available across our holiday parks so that everyone can put their best paw forward.
We’ve picked out three of our holiday parks to highlight the pet-friendly experiences that could await for your 2023 holiday.
When you arrive at Riverside Holiday Park in Southport you’ll be greeted with a pet goodie bag ensuring a warm welcome for everyone, and then it’s time to check out your pet-friendly accommodation, which includes a pooch station and water bowl so it won’t be long before you’re settled in. Our guests tell us that a firm favourite is the Riverside Dog Walk, which takes you around the perimeter of the park’s landscaped grounds and has plenty of space for some off the lead adventures. We also have a few nice additions when you are out and about, from a scoop of dog ice cream in the coffee shop to the chance to dine with your pet in the outdoor area.
In Southport itself you’ll find an abundance of places to explore with your pooch from the second longest pier in the country to the recently restored Southport Market, and for a longer walk Sefton Coastal Path promises breath-taking scenery. To finish off with something extra special, what about a visit to The Wagging Tail cafe, which has been designed with dogs and their owners in mind and is in the beautiful village of Churchtown.
A sense of the great outdoors awaits at Percy Wood Holiday Park in Northumberland, with glorious woodland stretching 180 acres surrounding the holiday park to discover and red squirrels, pheasants and roe deer to spot, plus a dedicated dog walk incorporated within the grounds themselves. There is a pet-friendly bar on site, ensuring quite literally that everyone can enjoy themselves, and the pubs in the area are also pet-friendly.
Venturing further afield, then maybe a visit to the picturesque Amble Harbour Village would appeal – here you’ll find a selection of independent retailers offering arts, crafts, jewellery and accessories and where dogs are welcomed. Or fancy stepping back in time and enjoying some history, then you don’t want to miss the stunning Warkworth Castle, dating back to 1200 it also reveals the story of Percy family dynasty and is dog-friendly.
We also have a special date for your diary, with Percy Wood Crufts taking place on Sunday 6 August, when your loveable mutt could go away with a canine crown.
At Wild Rose Holiday Park in Cumbria every effort has gone in to making your pet’s holiday as fun as yours. There is a designated pet-friendly area within the Coast & Country Bar and Restaurant, which also includes a tasty doggy menu, and to make everything as easy as possible you’ll find a dedicated exercise area on site.
There are endless scenic walks to enjoy in the surrounding area, with a favourite being to follow the path along the River Eden from the historic market town of Appleby to the pretty village of Great Ormside. Lots of the surrounding attractions are pet-friendly. For example, did you know that dogs are welcome aboard the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway? For a great day out you can ride on a 1950s steam locomotive from Haverthwaite Station and then take a Windermere Lake Cruise all the way to Lakeside with your pooch passenger travelling for free.
If you are visiting Harrison Holidays with your pet this year we’d love to see pictures of you having fun during your visit.
