Royal Umpire holiday park offers quality touring and motorhome pitches and our cosy Harripod collection for the traditional glamping experience. On-site we have great facilities for your stay and hope you enjoy the tranquil setting within close proximity of traditional English villages and beautiful countryside.
Park Summary
In rural Lancashire you will find a close-knit & pretty village called Croston. Award-winning for its outstanding annual flower displays, Christmas decor and 15th century cobbled bridge overlooking the River Yarrow it’s a delightful small parish humming with cafes, traditional pubs, restaurants and rustic shops.
Croston village is only a five-minute drive from Royal Umpire, our exclusive touring park set in sixty acres of countryside. Escape on holiday but be perfectly-situated between city and coast! On site we offer a landscaped park, garden area, mini-football pitch and dog exercise area for your trusty four-legged friends.

Our family friendly holiday park is ideally set up for a camping holiday, with all the traditional facilities you need including laundry and toilet & shower facilities, dish washing area and an extensive play park and mini-football pitch.

Rock & River Outdoor Pursuits
Situated in the heart of rural Lancashire, Rock and River is an Outdoor Activity Centre with onsite activities from Climbing and High Ropes, to Canoeing and Paddle Boarding. With over 18 exciting activities on offer, Rock & River are the perfect way to keep your child active and happy during the summer holidays. There are activities such as climbing, kayaking, archery and abseiling on offer. Each day has a unique timetable offering a new mix of fun.

Grandad Jim’s Traditional Sweet Shop, Leyland & Chorley
Do you remember that old-fashioned sweet shop from the film ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?’ This place is just like that! With huge jars full of all sorts of sweets, treats, & American toffees galore. The shop has a traditional British sweet shop feel, with many assortments to choose from. If you want to revisit some childhood memories, this should be your pick.

Blackpool
You’ve got your salty fish and chips (with extra vinegar) and you’re walking along the illuminated pier. The air is filled with excitement. Parents are reliving their childhoods bringing their little ones and pointing to the new attractions and flashing lights. You’ve treated yourself to Sugary hot donuts in a paper bag and a few pieces of blackpool rock for the road. Blackpool tower is overhead and flooding with lights. There’s so much to see; Madame Tussauds wax celebrities, ice skating or pleasure beach. Which ride will you go on first? Full of excitement and possibilities, Blackpool is the place to visit.

Harris Museum and Art Gallery
In the chattering city of Preston stands a monumental grade one listed building with glorious architecture and jam packed galleries of art and history. Take a walk around and soak in the knowledge, view exhibitions and grab a coffee at their café.

Bygone Times
Sometimes a walk down memory lane is just what you need. Enticingly cluttered with stalls full of memorabilia, antiques and collectors’ items, no two knickknacks are the same. The bonus is, once you’ve chosen your treasure from the chest, you can buy it! Traditional meals are served in the café and membership is required for a small fee.

Heskin Hall Shopping Village & Art Gallery
Quaint stalls and the two birds’ café set in the beautiful countryside, perfect for gift shopping or just general treating of yourself. You never know what unique presents you may find in here all provided locally by charming little shops. Locally sourced farm produce and garden plants can be bought here too.

Avenham Park, Preston
The entrance to Avenham Park leads you on a magical journey, underneath a rustic iron bridge where you can walk tree lined paths, pass underneath a trickling waterfall and reach the Grade two listed Victorian gardens. Part of the guild wheel tour, take a book and sit on the benches with the view of the Japanese Gardens or visit the Pavillion Café and watch from a comfy seat with a coffee.

Preston Cat Cafe
Feline fans and fluffy friends look no further! A brand new café where you can sit, eat cake, drink coffee and cuddle kitties in the centre of Preston. Book on their website for a purrfect afternoon!
