Rawcliffe Hall Holiday Park enjoys a secluded and unparalleled location, commanding breathtaking views of the picturesque River Wyre. The park is home to the historic Rawcliffe Hall with origins dating back to 1154 A.D. It
This illustrious hall has intriguing connections to renowned historical figures, notably Oliver Cromwell. During Cromwell’s march from Preston to Lancaster, his army passed through Elswick and the surrounding district, crossing the ford near the hall gates.
Adding to the hall’s mystique, we proudly introduce ‘Miss Kitty,’ our resident ghost. Miss Kitty, a local peasant girl, held a special place in the heart of one of the squires. In her honour, he erected a bronze statue on the grounds in front of the hall, though sadly, it vanished during the Second World War. The Hall now serves as our lounge bar and snooker room, you’ll discover a treasure trove of old photographs and documents that provide glimpses into the hall’s rich history, with remarkably little alteration over the years.
Rawcliffe Hall Holiday Park has garnered numerous accolades over the years. Notable distinctions include the Gold award in 2005 from the David Bellamy Conservation Award, the Silver Medal from the Britain in Bloom Award in 2010, and the esteemed Cask Marque accreditation, signifying our commitment to offering quality Real Ale.
