A Brief Guide To Owning a Holiday Home

Posted on

We may be a little biased, but at Harrison Holidays, we think owning a holiday home at one of our parks will prove to be one of the best decisions you have ever made.

Purchasing your first static caravan or lodge is undoubtedly a long-term investment, but it is easy to buy with Harrison Holidays, and you could be reaping the benefits within a matter of weeks!

The only difficult part is choosing your new home and deciding which park is right for you. Whether you want a coastal or country destination, we have an unrivalled choice of available accommodation, so why not book a VIP tour or browse our selection on our website?

Get in touch with our team who can help guide you through the process, finance and deposit options once you have found your dream holiday destination.

What does owning a holiday home with Harrison Holidays mean?

Owning a holiday home at one of our parks means you’ll have a 24-hour warden, discounted holidays at our other parks, discounts you can pass on to friends and family, and a range of facilities depending on which park you visit.

At Riverside Park in Southport, you’ll have free access to the gym and pool, owner discounts at the bar and restaurant, an ice cream parlour, regular newsletters that will keep you up to date with owner events, and safe and secure entry with numberplate recognition.

You’ll also find a fantastic outdoor pool at Wild Rose in Cumbria, as well as our new entertainment complex, with a cafe, bar, restaurant, and a soon-to-be-opened cinema, infinity pool and more.

Many of our parks are close to a variety of activities, such as opportunities for golf and fishing at Brooklyn and Abbey Farm, and Percy Wood Holiday Park has its own golf course, which owners can use for free!

At all of our parks, you’ll find a friendly community of like-minded souls happy to chat and provide recommendations for local amenities, fine dining, activities, and sightseeing. It won’t be long until you’re giving out your own recommendations of what to see and where to go!

You can download our Park Brochure for more information about individual parks.

There are regular events at all of our parks, so why not check out our events page to see for yourself?

Let’s look at the benefits of owning a static caravan, lodge or home with Harrison Holidays.

Unlimited holidays

No more waiting for that one week away in the summer holidays, and having to deal with airports, queues, cancelled flights, and hoping that the resort is up to scratch and there’s plenty to keep your kids entertained, as well as having to fork out thousands of pounds for the privilege.

Many of our parks are open all year round, meaning you can pack a bag and escape to your holiday home at the drop of a hat. Plan a nice long stay in the summer, or simply enjoy a weekend break on a whim. There are no check-in or check-out times, it’s completely up to you when you want to arrive or leave.

This year-round access to your caravan lodge means you can have more holidays throughout the year, which means more precious time spent with the family in a place that feels familiar and like home.

Your home away from home

A change of scene in a hotel can be great, but isn’t there always something you wish you could change to make it more homely?

When you own your lodge, it means that it is yours, from the pictures on the wall to the Egyptian cotton bedsheets to sleep between. You don’t even have to take them with you, as they will be there waiting when you arrive, meaning you can travel lighter and be certain of all those home comforts at your destination.

Tow no more

You may not be a stranger to holiday parks and a veteran caravan owner, but one of the biggest advantages of owning a static home is putting an end to towing your caravan to a site.

A caravan may afford you the freedom to travel wherever you want, but there can be a lot of stress in having to take it with you, making sure it is all packed away safe for transport, as well as ensuring it is roadworthy at the start of the holiday season. And let’s not forget the stress involved in trying to manoeuvre it down narrow country lanes or taking it long distances.

A static home can give you all the benefits of owning a caravan, but without many of the drawbacks. And if you wanted to visit somewhere else, then holiday home owners can get discounted holidays at our other parks!

Low maintenance

Modern static caravans, lodges, and homes are built to a very high standard and need minimal maintenance, which means you can spend more time enjoying your holiday and making precious memories with your family.

Our parks are maintained all year round, ensuring that everything is in tip-top condition for whenever you decide to visit, so you can relax in the knowledge that your family is in a safe and well-maintained environment.

Community spirit

Owning a holiday home at one of our amazing parks means you become part of a warm, friendly, and welcoming community. You’ll soon get to know your neighbours on regular visits, as well as the regular faces around the park, and maybe even in local villages, pubs, and restaurants. Your kids are bound to make friends with neighbouring kids too!

If you want to get to know your neighbours, then there are always social activities and events at our parks, whether it’s informal get-togethers with neighbours and spontaneous drinks at the bar, or events and activities organised by the park. You’ll soon make lifelong friends who will feel like family.
